http://www.bie-paris.org BIE DELEGATION TO TANGIER, MOROCCO, FOR THE TANGIER 2012 WORLD EXPOSITION BID The President of the BIE His Excellency Mr Wu Jianmin, and Secretary-General Sr Vicente González Loscertales, have led a BIE Delegation to Tangier, Morocco, for the Tangier 2012 World Exposition Bid. Meetings, Seminars, and Cultural Performances featured as part of the several-day visit. 1060 Days till Opening Ceremony
The number of international participants at
Shanghai 2010 increases from 133 to 143 nations. Guyana, Fiji, the
Niger, Mauritius, Thailand, and Austria are among the new participants.
The Cities theme of the Shanghai 2010 Expo is
extended with the launch of a dedicated 15-hectares of the Expo site
for the new 'Urban Best Practices Area', where selected cities from
around the world will be asked to present their 'best practice' in
their city's urban development. This could mean a working exhibit of a
21st century office-residential-parkland hub, a series of carraiges
from a high-speed transit authority inter-urban transport system,
including platform and interactive data timetable information services
at the stop itself, and so on - the emphasis will be on working
to-scale exhibits.

guiding precepts for the Expo 2010 site, including clean 'low emission'

direct you to the Expo.

Premier of the People's Republic of China Wen Jiabao visited the Expo Authority during a three-day visit to Shanghai. Mayor of Shanghai Mr Han Zheng was Guest Speaker at an International Forum on the Development of Cities held at Tongji University, Shanghai. As Mayor Mr Han noted at the Forum, "Shanghai must seize the opportunities presented by World Expo 2010 to solve the problems created by urbanization and to accelerate the city's development ... SMART STATE FRONT AND CENTRE AT WORLD'S BIGGEST SHOW IN 2010 : PRESS RELEASE 28 MAY 2007 Queensland will have a strong presence at World
Expo 2010 in Shanghai with a myriad of Queensland ideas, arts,
services, products and cultural icons on show to the world, Premier
Peter Beattie announced today. Mr Beattie said the Queensland
Government would invest $3.6 million over the next four years to ensure
Queensland makes maximum impact at the Expo which will run from May 1
to October 31, 2010.
"The Queensland Government invested $1.4
million in World Expo 2005 in Aichi, Japan with the special Queensland
Week in April 2005 attracting more than 71,000 visitors to the
Australian Pavilion," Mr Beattie said. "We are keen to lift
Queensland's profile even higher in Shanghai. Queensland has a long
standing Sister State relationship with Shanghai which will be
re-signed later this year. A strong Queensland strong presence in
Shanghai at the Expo will further strengthen those ties. We are
confident World Expo 2010 will provide a strong platform for
businesses, governments, education and research organisations to cement
existing relationships with China and ignite
new opportunities," Mr Beattie said.

the Joint 32nd Summer Games Olympiad and 2020 Universal Exposition at
the City of Uluru, celebrating the 250th Anniversary of New South Wales
1770 to 2020 A.D. and the creation of a global technopolis City-State
and World Centre for Indigenous Affairs and Public Policy. The
Exp0lympiad - the first proposed Joint Olympiad and Universal
Exposition since 1900 Paris and 1904 St Louis - also introduces a new
term into the parlance of the Olympic Games and World
Expositions with a new Joint Summer Olympic Games and
