Welcome to Foundation Expo '88 - Australia's leading centre for World Expo '88 - and World Expositions.
This year is an exciting year. The 25th Anniversary of World Expo '88 is a time for great celebration and reflection, as we look back to the wonderful halcyon year of Australia's bicentennial in 1988, and its largest event World Expo '88, and as we look to the future, secure in ensuring that the Expo's legacy continues onto 2038 - the 50th Anniversary, 2088, and beyond.
Peter Rasey - Executive Director Foundation Expo '88 and 25th Anniversary of World Expo '88 People's Committee Director and I have been working frenetically to catalog all of Brisbane's Expo '88 art works on the Foundation's new YouTube channel - http://www.youtube.com/foundationexpo88/ as well as to re-site and re-dedicate some of the art work that has gone into storage for so long.
With a new Lord Mayor in Brisbane City Council, the Right Honourable Councillor Graham Quirk, we also want to see Brisbane ratify its membership of the Bureau of International Expositions led "Assembly of Expo Cities and Regions" - or known as A.V.E. in its French acronym - so that we can see World Expo '88 - and Brisbane City - represented on the international stage at the regular Meetings of the Assembly, held at the end of each World Exposition.
