A hallmark of the rights of the common man, the Magna Carta Pavilion exhibited one of the original copies of the Magna Carta (one of the four calf-skin originals that exist), dating back to Anno Domini 1215.

In addition, in this Pavilion one could trace one's convict ancestry to the Lincoln Castle courts - and view a medieval display of Lincoln Cathedral England, featuring replicas of the throne, limestone statues from the Cathedral, as well as a plaster model depicting the signing of the document.

The Magna Carta was on special loan to the Exposition from Lincoln Cathedral, England, as a part of Australia's Bicentennial celebrations.
