| The French representation to the Exposition was three-fold - the French Pavilion; an exhibition of more than 50 treasures from the Louvre at the nearby Queensland Art Gallery; as well as performances by the internationally renowned Comedie Francaise at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, also nearby at the Melbourne Street entrance of the Exposition. A 5-metre scale model of the Eiffel Tower greeted guests to the Pavilion outside, as well as several 5m x 3m replica paintings paying tribute to the great 19th century French impressionists. Inside the deep blue illuminated interior of the Pavilion, guests were shown a high-tech presentation of how technology has changed the way the French spend their leisure time - as well as how they go about doing it.   |
