Here one can see the iconic Brisbane River weaving it's way through the city and suburbs.
The 1988 expo site is located on the right-hand bank of the River. The white 'sun-sails' covering the site are partially visible. A 360° vista of Brisbane in 2006 from the Goodwill Bridge - the re-developed World Expo '88 site is at the left south-bank of the image - the CBD on the north-bank - the Captain Cook Bridge and Pacific Highway and other residential on the right of the image. [R] Palm Trees and an artificial sand beach with the City in the background make a City-bound Beach-goer's haven - South Bank Parklands - the re-developed World Expo '88 site. |
